French con man known as ‘The Bikini Killer’ or ‘The Serpent’ that targeted Western tourists in vacation spots of South-east Asia, often with the help of female accomplices. Imprisoned in India from 1976 to 1997, and from 2004 serving a life sentence in Nepal.
