Antonio Franklin, 18 years old at the time, was found guilty of seven counts of aggravated arson, six counts of aggravated murder and two counts of aggravated robbery. In the early morning hours of April 18, 1997, Ivory Franklin, 76, Ophelia Franklin, 71 and Anthony Franklin, 38, were each bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat. Mrs. Franklin was also shot in the face. Antonio then set the house to flames and fled. Once apprehended, Franklin confessed to the crimes. He was sentenced to death for the aggravated murder charges and 91 years in prison for the others. Antonio Franklin’s execution date is scheduled for January 12, 2023.
