43-year-old former town marshal David Young and his 47-year-old wife, Doris Young, took 136 children and 18 adults hostage at Cokeville Elementary School. During the standoff, Doris accidentally detonated a bomb she was carrying, injuring herself and 73 others. David then shot and killed Doris, shot and wounded a teacher, and committed suicide.
