Columbine High School Massacre – All Caught on Film

They planned A Massacre for a Year

Columbine High School Massacre The Columbine High School Massacre in 1999 was reported at the time to be “the deadliest high school shooting in US history”. It was a massacre that had taken a year to plan and was attributed to a suicidal depressive and a humanity-hating psychopath! Neither of which were yet old enough to drink.

A Friendship Made In Heaven. Or Was That Hell?

Columbine High School Massacre Erik and DylanAt first glance it would appear that the friendship that formed between these two seemingly social outcasts, Erik Harris and Dylan Klebold, was one that had been made in heaven. They complimented each other, but in a very deranged way. In truth they couldn’t have been more different.

Erik Harris was the psychopath. Dylan Klebold was the self-loathing depressive. Together they were a disturbing combination and one of the deadliest storms to ever hit a high school.

On April 20, 1999, (Hitler’s birthday by the way) the two boys planted a bomb in their high school cafeteria, that was to go off at 11:00 am. They then left the building. The idea was to shoot the students and faculty from opposite sides of the exits as they ran from the exploding building. But, when the bomb failed to ignite as planned, the boys turned to plan B. They entered the school, armed to the teeth, and proceeded to open fire on anyone and everyone in sight.

As their fellow students scrabbled in a disorganized frenzy of utter panic, confusion and fear, the deadly duo laughed out tauntingly and with disturbing delight.

Students ran wildly to hide themselves from the obviously very real and deadly scenario they they had come to find themselves in. Many ran, single file, into the large library with the hopes of escaping the shooters.

The students scurried beneath the desks in the library in the hopes of being unseen, unheard and undiscovered by the two young men that were obviously hell bent on killing them all.

Unfortunately, the library would in fact become the very room where Dylan Klebold and Erik Harris would wreak the majority of their havoc. Those who had hidden beneath the desks were taunted and laughed at before being shot at point blank range. Others begged for their lives through tears and screams, just to have a spray of bullets silence the entire room with their deaths.

Columbine High School Massacre

Combing the school hallways, Erik and Dylan realized that they were now alone in the building and returned to the library where they discussed their next move. And there were few choices, they decided, to choose from. They could open fire on the police that now surrounded the building and be murdered by their hand or commit suicide and die by their own.

They chose the latter and knelt together near the last student they’d murdered in cold blood.

Before it would end, Erik Harris and Dylan Klebold would have murdered 12 students and 1 teacher, wounding 20 others before returning to the library where they would take their own lives with fatal gunshot wounds to the head.  The deadliest high school massacre in US history would bear their names eternally and would be forever embedded the minds of those who lived it and who bore witness to the security systems view of the entire horrific scenario caught on tape!
